CB MEDIAINDEPENDENT VIDEO PRODUCTION

ONE VAN.
ONE PERSON.
NO COMMITTEE.

Casus Belli Media trades as CB Media. It’s one filmmaker, based in Yorkshire, filming across the UK and sometimes beyond.

HOW IT WORKS

Most production companies sell you a team. Right answer for a telly advert. Daft answer for two hours in a workshop.

I plan it, light it, shoot it, record the sound and cut it. One person. Fewer overheads, quicker decisions, and nobody on the invoice who spent the day holding a coffee.

When a job actually needs a second camera or a dedicated sound recordist, I bring in people I have worked with for years. You still only ever deal with me.

  • One point of contactFirst call to final file
  • Reply within a working dayUsually a lot sooner

HOW A JOB ACTUALLY RUNS

Three steps. No surprises in the middle.

01 / PRE-PRODUCTION

Before anything.

Free, and the most useful twenty minutes of the job. What’s the film for, who’s meant to watch it, and what should they do afterwards?

Then a written plan you sign off before anyone turns up: what gets filmed, in what order, and how long it takes. Twenty minutes on the phone saves a fortnight of guessing.

02 / SHOOT

The day itself.

I arrive early and work quietly. Mostly I stay out of the way of your business. Nobody has to perform, and nobody has to entertain a crew.

03 / EDIT

The edit.

A first cut for you to pull apart, with a handful of revisions included in the quote, then final files in whatever shapes you need them. Delivered as a link that doesn’t expire.

THE KIT

WHAT’S IN
THE VAN.

Nobody has ever hired a filmmaker because of a sensor size. It’s here because people ask, and because it explains why the low-light work in the reel holds up.

  • Full-frame cinema camera, dual native ISO
  • Second body for interviews and multi-cam
  • Fast primes and a workhorse zoom
  • Gimbal for walkthroughs
  • Drone, flown legally and insured
  • Radio mics, boom and a field recorder
  • LED panels, a soft key and enough stands to be a nuisance
  • Backup drives on site, so footage is never on one card
