The ask
Get a tired old Polo from North Yorkshire to Benidorm without it, or us, falling apart. Down to Devon, over to Rouen, Bordeaux, up and over the Pyrenees to Zaragoza, then the long drag to the Med. All for SELFA, a Skipton charity for local kids.
The problem
A rally doesn’t wait for you. No second takes, no reshoots, and the best moments happen at a motorway services with a wheel off. The kit had to be small enough to live in a car for the whole trip and quick enough to be rolling before anyone noticed.
How it was done
A DJI Mini 4 in the air and a handful of DJI Action 3s stuck wherever they’d stay put: bonnet, dash, door mirror. Charge everything every night, back up every night, go again in the morning.
What came back
A run of social clips posted along the way to keep the sponsors watching and the donations coming, plus a film for SELFA to use long after the car got home. Over a grand raised for Skipton kids by a car held together with stickers and optimism.
Why it matters for your job
Not every film is a controlled shoot. Events, tours, launches and anything on the move need someone who can travel light, keep up, and still come back with footage that looks like it was planned.
